I chose HDD for backup and transferring of divination volume of data between different computers. Capacity 3TB me for an optimal in terms of price / performance (I wondered in the range 2-4TB). For WD talked last experience (not negative) in combination with a small range Finishers. Involved took place without problems, coz I like Apple users, which is not mainstream, appreciated (WD is designed for Windows). HDD is immediately ready for use. HDD is powered externally and quality of power supply cable (typically Cina) is probably the only one makes me worry. HDD works without problems even when you connect to a PC (Windows Vista, Win 7) compared to USB 2.0 I was very pleasantly surprised by the speed of data transfer when connected via USB 3.0. Shame it's not even Thunderbolt interface. Thanks to the dark color of the plastic it did not seem HD (and is not) as representatives of the lower class, the design was good. The disc is absolutely quiet, self sleep patterns after a period of inactivity (or so it seems thanks to extinguish a single diode on the front panel). Woken up very quickly.

I was deciding between this disk WD My Book 2T very similar disc Digital WD Elements Desktop. I finally decided to WD My Book, WD Elements although compared lacks key to shutdown. The reason is to support hardware encryption, which apparently has no Elements. Drive has, as at WD typical glossy surface on which they are any visible fingerprints mikrooděrky etc. Compared to older versions of the disc is not intensely flashing diode (Only the flashing diode), which is good. Also has been mentioned off button on the back. The biggest disappointment is the power adapter that is poisonous in itself. Compared to the version that was for older models has Replacing fork (for traveling abroad), but it has a classic Chinese processing. In the past the old model, I literally broke the thin wire - moreover - it can not be a claim individually, so I had to move files across tera (Luckily friends had the same model, so I could borrow adapter). I'm afraid that the situation will repeat. Quality disc certainly does not deserve to be hit by such an adapter! Vents in the upper part of the disk will probably continue to help clog the insides dust. Bundled software WD SmartWare still unusable (bad detection files does not choosing specific files - about bug). Program for encryption / unlocking and diagnostics, however, it seems a good (and in English). The disc itself is generally a nice, solid workmanship. It's fast, PC connection takes about as much as a 2G chip costs, does not retard (using the recommended driver WD). Transferring files is also very fast. Default available capacity of 2.81 TB (NTFS, Win7). Currently, in our state ... it is necessary to compromise. And this disc will be a good choice IMHO :-)

I have several disks 2 and 3TB WD, and I do not see why I should install the included software. Everything is always on the supplied CD without installation immediately deleted, and all disks as Maka watches. Type of these discs is not operating, so go to sleep when idle and again vzbouzejí (10 sec. At awakening bothering you?). The discs use on thick films and concerts, and I have no problems communicating with a PC or TV. Someone's squeaks of a powerful embedded LED - the problem is to rotate the disk at a time using a LED on the wall? In my opinion, this disc is best suited to large movie files in the hundreds of GB, documents and pictures, of course, simply pocket without power.
