A Wi-Fi modem with LTE Support looks like a normal Wi-Fi router. The fundamental difference lies in the additional LTE support. Where a typical modem uses a cable, an LTE modem only uses wireless internet from your operator. It's practically the same as sharing access from your mobile phone. An LTE-enabled Wi-Fi modem is much like a familiar Wi-Fi router (controls local network traffic), but instead of a cable connection to an operating company, a SIM card is used. When it is in Access Point mode, it can work on batteries, which is perfect for travelling and outdoor activities, for example, if you'd like to connect to the internet while driving. All you have to do, is insert the SIM card in the Access Point.

The Teltonika LTE RUT240 supports 802,11b (2,4GHz), 802,11g (2,4GHz) and 802,11n standards, and this lets you achieve speeds up to 300 Mb/s. The support for the 802.11n standard is particularly commendable because it allows for communication at a maximum speed of 600Mb/s, which is the current maximum at a 2.4GHz frequency.
