When Does Extended Warranty Pay Off?

Extended warranty provides stress-free insurance when you buy premium products, which you still expect to be using regularly after the two-year warranty period has expired.

  • Is it possible to extend the warranty retroactively?

    Yes, as long as the service is currently available, you can purchase Extended Warranty during the standard warranty period. It is also possible to purchase Extended Warranty after filing a claim.

  • Does the service also cover mechanical damage?

    No, Extended Warranty works the same as standard warranty—it covers manufacturing defects but not mechanical damage.

  • As a VAT payer, will I be required to pay VAT in the same way as I do with car insurance?

    Yes, if your insurance claim is resolved by repair. As a VAT payer, you will be required to pay the VAT from the cost of the repair (this also applies if the service centre provides a replacement item). However, as in other cases, VAT can be claimed back from the government.

  • How long can it take to process an insurance claim?

    We try to process each case within 45 days from the date the product is handed over to us. We meet this deadline in the vast majority of cases. However, the statutory deadline for settling the insured event is up to 90 days, which is also stated in the insurance contract.

  • Will you provide me with a replacement product for the duration of the repair?

    We currently do not provide replacement products for the duration of the insurance event as part of the Extended Warranty service.

  • Where can I find the older versions of the insurance terms and conditions?
  • I am not satisfied with how the insurance event was settled. What should I do?

    If you do not agree with how the insurance event was settled, we recommend that you contact the independent claims advisor, RG Consulting Ltd at reklamace@rgconsulting.cz. You will immediately receive a message about the start of the claims investigation, which can take up to 30 days, depending on workload and the complexity of the case.
