Less is More

As a successor of the D5300, this model has undergone improvements to suit photographers in terms of ergonomics and offers greater stamina and more photographic possibilities. In particular, the ISO sensitivity of 25,600 ensures better results under poor lighting conditions. At night when shooting without a flash, pictures will have incredibly dynamic colour and depth. The mirror is also smaller and lighter than the previous model, and the same battery operates for up to one-third longer. The camera also has a touchscreen for easier operation.

Always the Best

The D5500 has a 39-point autofocus system and a 2016-pixel RGB metering sensor. The DX-format CMOS sensor with 24 megapixels promises vivid images with distinctive and finely tuned colours with low noise. Its EXPEED 4 processor with advanced technology quickly processes data into crisp images under all lighting conditions. The system is powerful enough to allow continuous recording of Full HD movies and continuous shooting at up to 5 frames per second.

Perfectly Shaped

This digital SLR features a light, yet durable, monocoque body and is the perfect photographic partner for every occasion. It is optimally shaped, so you can grip the camera with minimal effort while maintaining full control over the buttons and wheels. The Fn function key lets you quickly adjust the settings by moving your finger on the screen when shooting through the viewfinder. Use the Fn function key to assign up to eight frequently used settings including focal point selection, the AF-area modes, aperture and ISO sensitivity.

Flash Control:
TTL: i-TTL flash control with 2016-pixel RGB sensor combined with built-in flash; i-TTL balanced fill flash for digital SLRs combined with Matrix measurement and centre-weighted metering, standard i-TTL flash for digital SLR in combination with spot metering

Nikon’s beginnings date back to 1917 in Japan. At first, the company mainly produced lenses - telescopes, binoculars, microscopes and other small, optical equipment. Soon the company expanded its portfolio, producing photographic lenses under the Nikkor brand.

In the field of cameras, particularly among professionals, Nikon quickly gained a reputation as a top manufacturer, which continues today. Its cameras were even included in the equipment of American spacecraft. Nikon designed and produced the legendary Nikon SP 1957, regarded by many as the best camera of all time.
