This dual-socket IBM x3500 M5 server delivers solid performance for the most demanding applications in mission-critical environments. Its energy-efficient platform supports multiple cores, the latest DDR4 memory modules, and large data capacity that is also easy to extend and manage. Compared to the previous generation it consumes less power and delivers better performance, largely due to the reliable Intel Xeon processors. This results in lower costs while maintaining speed and availability. Its tower design means the server takes more space, but in return you get iproved operating conditions for all installed components.
The server is equipped with a top-notch hexa-core Haswell Intel Xeon E5-2620 v3 processor. Its advanced architecture means higher performance at the same clock speed, resulting in better optimised consumption. Intel Turbo Boost 2 can temporarily overlock the cores to cope with extreme load spikes. The processor is backed by advanced 8GB DDR4 RDIMM RAM, which can be expanded with optional LRDIMM memory modules. With 24 available slots, the total RAM capacity can reach 1.5 TB.
The x3500 M5 has hot-swap functionality, which allows you to swap drives without having to power down the system. The server can be expanded to up to 8 SAS hard drives in 2.5" format. The mouted disks can be configured in secure RAID 0/1/5 arrays, overseen by a hard disk controller. The server also has PCI Express 3.0 expansion slots and a Gigabit network card with four ports. The components are powered by a highly efficient dual hot-swap 750 W power supply unit.
Lenovo is the world's largest computer maker, founded in 1984. Its original name was Legend. Later it was renamed to Legend Novo ("New Legend"), abbreviated Lenovo. In 2005 it took over IBM's computer division, which was among the largest computer makers in the world. It is similarly ambitious in the field of mobile phones, where it would like to surpass Apple and Samsung. As far as this goal goes, they acquired Motorola’s mobile division in January 2014 and have been ramping up production since.
The company also produces tablets, monitors, televisions, and storage solutions. Overall, they are known for delivering quality products at reasonable prices.
