The Lenovo System x3100 M5 is a powerful and advanced server from a reputable manufacturer. The server is housed in a compact case and is designed for small and medium-sized enterprises. Although it has a standard tower design, it provides sufficient scalability for extra hard drives, backup devices, expansion cards, and disk controllers in PCI Express slots.
The server is equipped with a dual-core processor Haswell Intel Xeon E3-1220 v3 processor with Intel Turbo Boost 2 that can temporarily overlock the cores to cope with extreme load spikes. The processor is backed by 8 GB DDR3 UDIMM RAM, which can be expanded with 4 optional memory modules. The total RAM capacity can reach 32 GB. A solid gigabit network card with two connectors ensures reliable network connection. The server also comes with advanced IMM2 remote management.
The x3100 M5 has Simple-Swap functionality, which allows you to swap drives on the fly and can accommodate up to 4 HDDs in 3.5” format, with a total capacity of up to 12 TB! The disks are overseen by a hard disk controller with RAID 0/1/10 array support. This version comes with a 1000 GB HDD, optical DVD-RW drive, and two 3rd Gen PCI-Express expansion slots. Lenovo is the world's largest computer maker, founded in 1984. Its original name was Legend. Later it was renamed to Legend Novo ("New Legend"), abbreviated Lenovo. In 2005 it took over IBM's computer division, which was among the largest computer makers in the world. It is similarly ambitious in the field of mobile phones, where it would like to surpass Apple and Samsung. As far as this goal goes, they acquired Motorola’s mobile division in January 2014 and have been ramping up production since.
The company also produces tablets, monitors, televisions, and storage solutions. Overall, they are known for delivering quality products at reasonable prices.
