The dual-socket HP ProLiant DL80 Gen9 is a great server for capacity-intensive applications. It offers high scalability with simple maintenance and is ideal for small and medium businesses. Aside from the usual IT use, it can serve as cold storage for demanding applications. This is largely due to its excellent cost-per-gigabyte ratio.
The server is powered by a hexa-core Intel Xeon E5-2603 v3 processor, clocked at 1.9 GHz. The processor is backed by 8 GB RAM, though this is only the basic version. You can add a second processor, expand the server’s memory, or add up to 8 hard drives to accurately respond to the needs of your company’s growth and development.
The network connection is handled through a 2× 1 Gb/s network card. The server supports an optional optical drive and has a practical hot-plug 550W power with over 89 % efficiency, providing a reliable and economical source of power. The server's compact design is the proverbial cherry on top.
HDD: no mounted drives, max 8×, hot-plug 3.5" LFF HDD
Hard disk controller: H240 12 Gb/s SAS/SATA internal Smart Host Bus Adapter (HBA) - (RAID 0/1/5)
8 DDR4 memory slots (4 slots per processor)
USB 3.0, 2 x external, 1 x internal
USB 2.0: 1 x external
5 x PCI Express 3.0
Hewlett-Packard was founded in the difficult times of the Great Depression. The founders were a pair of friends whose name the company still proudly bears. They started their business in an unobtrusive garage near the city of Palo Alto. It is now a national monument. HP’s success lay not in copying existing products, but in the ability and courage to come up with something new.
The first commercial triumph was an oscillator that surpassed all competition in quality, yet sold at a quarter of the price. In 1968, HP released their first desktop computer - a desktop calculator. The company currently manufactures products primarily related to computer technology - computers and laptops, printers, scanners, digital cameras, servers, and last but not least, calculators.
