The new Canon imagePROGRAF M40 large-format scanner is especially useful in graphic design studios already equipped with 36" or 44" Canon imagePROGRAF plotters. The scanner connects to the plotter via an integrated stand, giving you the option to scan and process technical documentation or other materials with a maximum width of 40 inches at an optical resolution of 600 dpi.
Scanning is handled by CIS (contact image sensor) technology, which uses miniature LEDs for illumination. This allows for a smaller sensor head and lower energy costs. Moreover, it ensures precise image capturing and accurate line definition without shadows. SingleSensor technology speeds up the scanning process and, together with USB 3.0, delivers all the scanned data to your computer up to 10 times faster than the conventional USB interface. Thanks to the supplied software, you can scan to SmartWorks MFP, copy, or receive your scanned documents by e-mail in TIFF, JPEG, and PDF format.
Canon was founded in 1933. Its original title translated to "portable laboratory optics". The Japanese company has been headquartered in Tokyo since its inception. Canon is particularly associated with the production of digital cameras and accessories, where they remain the leading innovator and producer of imaging solutions. Aside from digital cameras, the company also operates in the production of office equipment, particularly copiers or printers.
