The CG277 – ColorGraphics is Eizo’s flagship professional monitor, offering the absolute finest in image quality. It boasts 99% sRGB and Adobe sRGB IEC61966-2.1 coverage, and a built-in calibration sensor.
Automate your calibration with the built-in SelfCalibration sensor that is housed within the monitor's bottom bezel and swings up onto the screen only when calibrating. This sensor eliminates the need for a third-party calibration device and even operates in portrait mode.
Professional SelfCalibration sensor
The ColorEdge CG277 Monitor has a built-in SelfCalibration sensor which allows for automatic calibration. Using either the On-Screen Display menu or the bundled ColorNavigator software, you can schedule the monitor to self-calibrate at specific times. Even if the monitor is switched off or not connected to a computer, it will stick to its pre-set schedule and self-calibrate.
Correlation to the results of an external calibration probe
The bundled ColorNavigator 6 software makes calibration both simple and quick.
The ColorEdge CG277 Monitor can be correlated to the measurement results of an external calibration sensor.
After correlating, the built-in sensor will automatically recalibrate to the settings. This is convenient if the monitor is used in a work environment with other monitors and one measurement device must be used as a standard for all calibration.
The monitor incorporates EIZO's patented digital uniformity equalizer (DUE) technology to counteract fluctuation in brightness and chromacity on different parts of the screen, as well as to ensure a Delta-E difference of 3 or less across the screen when the monitor leaves the factory. DUE also counterbalances the influences that a fluctuating ambient temperature may have on the white point colour temperature and brightness to ensure stable image display.
Being one of EIZO’s high-end monitors, this display also sports its own calibration sensor, which pops up from the bottom edge of the screen bezel. This sensor can be used independently to calibrate the screen using EIZO’s own ColorNavigator 6 software, or the built-in sensor can be correlated to another external colorimeter. The CG277 is calibrated before leaving the factory, corrected for uniformity variations and adjusted for gamma. All that means that you receive a very uniform and accurate monitor.
10-bit DP (DisplayPort)
As is the case with the CS/CX and CG series models, this monitor uses the DisplayPort input
, and offers 10-bit simultaneous colour display from a 16-bit look-up table which means it can show more than one billion colours simultaneously. This is 64 times as many colours as you get with 8-bit display which results in even smoother colour gradations
and reduced Delta-E between two adjacent colours.
Automatic input switching including shared peripherals (mouse, keyboard)
You can connect most of your devices, such as PC, laptop or cameras directly to the monitor because the monitor has a number of different ports. Thanks to the 10-bit colour display based on a 16 bit LUT, you can utilize a huge colour spectrum. This is made possible by the rapid DisplayPort, 8-bit DVI-D and HDMI connection
s in combination with the frame rate control with support for HDCP encoded video signal and with the support of RGB/YCbCr signals
. The HDMI input also offers direct connection with digital cameras and supports a video signal display rate of 1080/24p frames-per-second. An integrated USB hub enables the connection of peripheral devices. For example, a keyboard and mouse can be connected to the monitor sitting on your desk. The CG277 has two upstream ports, enabling devices connected to the monitor to be used alternately with two computers.
Excellent response time, sharp images
For video editing or post production work, an overdrive circuit is included to reduce grey-to-grey response time to 6ms and ensure that moving images look clean and sharp with a minimum of ghosting. The IPS panel‘s response time, considered fantastic even by today's standards, and its backlight system ensure absolute uniformity.
The following features make the panel an ideal tool for video editing and post-production:
Input Support for 4K x 2K
The monitor accepts 4K x 2K resolutions of 4096 x 2160 and 3840 x 2160 at up to 30 frames/second via the DisplayPort input then downscales them to its native resolution of 2560 x 1440. This added functionality makes the ColorEdge CG277 a practical choice for editing when working with the increasingly popular 4K x 2K resolutions used in digital television and digital cinematography.
Film is usually shot at 24 frames/second and looks unnatural when played back on a typical monitor that displays 60 frames/second. The HDMI input supports a video signal display rate of 1080/24p frames-per-second so you can edit the film as it was meant to be viewed.
Professional calibration = ColorNavigator 6
The CG277 is delivered with the ColorNavigator 6 hardware calibration software.
As the calibration uses the monitor's hardware, it takes place without losses and independently of the computer and graphics card. The CG277 integrates perfectly into an existing system. ColorNavigator works with the integrated measuring devices and a number of external measuring devices. The software uses a look-up table stored in the ColorEdge monitors. You can "predict" how colour will appear to your clients whether you produce content for printed media like books and magazines or for digital media devices like tablets, smart phones, and notebook computers.
Excellent dark tones even from an angle in a dimly lit room
When viewing the screen from an angle in a dimly lit room, dark tones typically appear washed out due to the display characteristics of LCD backlights. The display, sporting a matt finish
, maintains a high contrast ratio even from an angle which allows the dark tones to retain their depth. The IPS (in-plane switching) panel exhibits no glare and allows several people to view the monitor with minimal colour shift.
Excellent ergonomics thanks to a new flexible stand
The CG277 has a flexible base to adjust the height, tilt, and rotation and supports both portrait and landscape use. The 27-inch ergonomically designed monitor can then be easily tailored to the user's needs.
This display sports a stand that offers a wide range of adjustments – including 125mm of height adjustment, a 25° upward tilt, a 344° swivel and a 90° clockwise rotation – the versatile monitor also has the ability to swivel the screen into portrait orientation
Professional shading hood included!
This monitor comes bundled with a unique hood that is designed for portrait mode as well. Now you can keep the glare off your screen no matter which mode you work in.
